2016 Jones Winery Rosé
The bouquet is spicy with aromatic cherry fruit characters and is fresh and clean. The palate is finely textured with a rich middle palate and a savoury finish.
Made from grapes grown in our vineyards. This wine was made from Grenache (60%) and Malbec (40%). The grapes were picked on February 23rd, 2016. The Grenache was destemmed and macerated with its skins for 24 hours before pressing. The Malbec was made by running the juice away from the skins before too much colour was obtained. After racking the juice was fermented in older oak barrels at a low temperature. The wine was matured in the barrel with lees stirring for texture and complexity for 7 months. It was bottled in November 2016. Alc. 14.2%. Drink now whilst it is young and fresh.
Antipasto, picnic food and pizza or just by itself well chilled.
On the banks of the mighty Murray on a warm summers eve with good friends.
